Yay!!!

OK nothing to do with crafting butttttttttt.............I started my corn and green beans today!!!  I am starting them a little early (in the house of course) so I can have a shorter garden time.  Ok, so my dad and I are doing a Garden together this year-- yes, it's finally my time to do a garden with my dad!!!!  I am super excited because my sister has had a garden with my dad the last two years and this year it's my time.  I went ahead and started my corn and green beans in the house today because believe it or not last week we had 70-80* weather and this week its like 40-50* weather.  I am trying to talk him into growing a super pumpkin but he's not biting.  Maybe, I hope, oh it would be so cool to grow a 500 pound pumpkin!!!  Blah, Blah, Blah, I am so excited.

Look what I made!

So very proud of myself!  I posted a couple days ago I was going to try painting, and I did.  My painting turned out well and I think I will continue painting.  I made this with an 8X10 canvas, acrylic paint, mod podge and accessories.  I am very pleased with the way it turned out and hope the recipient is pleased as well.  It's for my long time friends daughter, Hannah.  Her Birthday party is tomorrow and she will be 11 years old.  Something to fancy up her room a bit.  The two pictures are the same project- one was taking with flash and one was taken with-out flash.

Painting.....

Decided to try my hand at free painting tonight.  Not finished yet but will post picture when it's done for all to see.  I am hoping it will look ok, I pick on myself so bad I was already to give up after 10 minutes into the painting because I had already messed up!  Oh well, live and learn!

Not off to s good start.

Ever in a rush to start a project?  Once you get going on it you realize you already SCREWED it up???  This is what I did today.  I started to make a blue jean skirt for my daughter (you know with the fabric panel insert in the front and back).  Anyways I start taking out the seems on the legs of a pair of blue jeans and to my dismay, I was taking the outer seam out instead of the inner leg seam out!!!!  BOO!!!  So I thought ok I can save this and add 4 smaller panels- one in front and back and one on each side.  I get the front panel sewed in and grabbed my rotary tool to do a little trimming, and I am unaware I had the fabric over lapped and when I cut it.............I cut a hole in the panel that I just sewed in!   URGGGGGGGGGGG

It's almost here!!!

What are you crafting or have crafted for St. Patrick's Day???  I need some ideas on what to make the kids for St Patrick's Day to wear to school.

Large Rag Round Hair band

I attempted to make a (I call them) Rag Rounds and it turned out really good, or I think so.  I was surfing the web on how to make different/ unusual hair pieces for head bands and barrettes and came across this on some little forum--no instructions just a pic so I tried it and this is what I got.  Not exactly the same as pic but I suppose thats what makes it mine.

Felt hair thingys!!

So anyway I tried to make Shelby a similar hair clip to this one featured at (awesome blog with awesome GLUE GUN projects) A girl and a glue gun.
Mine seemed to turn out way to big but it's still cute

Skirts, Skirts and Bloopers!!!

I attempted to make a few skirts for Demo purposes.  Messed one up totally and the other 2 were, well just OK.

They turned out well, just OK.  I want to add more flair, bling, and individuality to them.

Denim, Denim, Denim!!!

I made this cute little pouch this morning- 1st time sewing with denim and it was actually awesome.  I especially like the way denim does shift, roll or stretch (to much) when sewing on machine.  This zipper gave me a little trouble because I kept trying to sew over it (I read on another blog that you could do this), it kept locking up my sewing machine so I had to have a change of plans.  It all worked out well in the end.

Cute little Pouch!!

First time trying something like this, especially something that has a zipper!  Turned out almost perfect-needs a little tweaking but I love it!!  I love the Owl pattern and the size is nice for make-up, money, cell phone, personables (ladies) or for a child to tote around and feel like a grown up!  I will be making more and more of these cute things in different fabrics and styles.  Tell me what you think!
